Counselling Fees
Most extended health benefits and health care insurance plans (e.g. Blue Cross, Great West Life) cover the cost of individual counselling sessions, psychological assessments, and skills group when provided by a registered psychologist. Some plans may not cover telephone or on-line counselling and restrict coverage to in-person sessions only. Check with your extended health benefits provider for details as each plan is different.
For DBT skills groups, fees are due at the time of group registration. For individual and couples counselling, fees are due at time of session. You will be provided with an invoiced receipt so you can submit to your insurance company.
Direct billing is available for RCMP members, Veterans, and their families through Medavie Blue Cross. Otherwise due to limited administrative support and the wide variety of insurance plans, Foothills Counselling does not to direct billing at this time.
Payment plans can be negotiated for individuals without coverage. Contact for more information to discuss your specific needs.
Foothills Counselling Psychology charges standard fees for psychologists in accordance with the rates recommended by the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. Fees are as follows::
Counselling and Therapy Fees
Individual Counselling for Children (10 yrs+), Adolescents, and Adults (In-person, On-line, Telephone)$220 for 50 min, $330 for 80 min
Trauma Therapy
$220 for 50 min, $330 for 80 min
Couples Counselling
$220 for 50 min, $330 for 80 min
Telephone Counselling
$220 for 50 min, $330 for 80 min
DBT Telephone Coaching
$50 for 15-20 minute coaching call
DBT Skills Groups for Adults
$1800 per group (15 sessions, 2.5 hours duration)
DBT Generalization Group
$390 (4 sessions, 1.5 hour duration)
